The highlight of my experience was the comfort, peace of mind, and quality she provided. She made everyone so comfortable! Even my family from Chicago (they’re a tough crowd) came up to me the day after and said “That photographer!!! Now SHE knows what she’s doing!!”. Everyone talked about how professional and pleasant she was. She was probably the only vendor I never had to worry about or ask for anything or tell to do anything, she did her thing without any direction that day.
She worked with me during the planning process to get everything she needed for the day, including a list of pictures I wanted, formals my mom wanted, and wishes of me and Don. We didn’t want to take first look pics, and she made it work for us, and we did first touch pictures that came out BEAUTIFUL. Even our engagement pictures were exactly how I imagined, and VERY fun. When we laughed in pictures, it wasn’t staged, she was really making us laugh. One thing I noticed during our engagement shoot was that she took pictures when we looked the most natural, something I don’t see very often, and appreciated.
The main reasons I’d recommend Ashleigh are the quality of her work and her professionalism as a photographer.
You truly feel like you are in great hands with her. The one thing I’d say will help you make the best of your time working with her, is to really listen to her recommendations, while still making her tips your own. Something as small as her suggesting one of us wear a pop of color during engagement photos really made a huge difference and I would definitely say is one of her signature moves. She’s AMAZING!

I was a fan of Ashleigh's work before I had the opportunity (i.e. reason) to work with her. When I got engaged, I knew I had to work with Ashleigh for our engagement photos and wedding. Neither my fiancé or I had experienced a professional photo shoot, and from consultation through shoot day she made it fun and easy. Her in-home consultation experience is special and makes you feel extremely comfortable with her. On the day of our engagement shoot we were not quite sure what to expect. We had a blast! She had music, made us laugh and put us both at ease being intimate and sharing little moments with each other. Ashleigh turned these little moments into pure gold, capturing a level of intimacy that I'd heard people say about us but had never seen from the outside in. I discovered Ashleigh through Instagram and her work immediately stood out-- I knew she would be able to capture our Big Day, perfectly. When we received the images, my parents who are also photographers were blown away. Our wedding was in Frederick, MD at a winery, on a bright and sunny day. Ashleigh and her team incorporated the light and natural backdrops to make the images look like pieces of art.
Some of the wedding party (myself included) are not the most at ease in front of a camera, but she made us feel really comfortable. I also loved her ability to capture the candid moments throughout the day. Her photos help bring back all the amazing memories made and shed light on ones we missed.
